What's Happening at Cornerstone? News and Updates

Parents, Students and Educators
What They Say

“Though I didn’t know it at the time, CDS meant everything to me. Ultimately, I was the one who made the choice to turn my life around and go down a new path.”
Student, Fort Lee, NJ

“I want to personally thank you for all of your help with this very difficult family. Their son is in great need of treatment and I know both parents are comforted by the high level of care that he will receive at Cornerstone. For them I know that they see the 24/7 hot line as a godsend: Mom said that it’s the first time that she can really sleep at night.”

Case Manager, Essex County, NJ

“Cornerstone meant a lot to me. It taught me how to cope. It has truly made me the person I am today, and I couldn’t be more grateful.”

Student, Union, NJ

Professional Learning by Cornerstone

Cornerstone has a long-established tradition of bringing quality and timely professional development to our public-school colleagues. We offer complimentary webinars, in-person workshops at school districts, and in-person conferences. Our conferences are held twice per year, highlighting guest speakers who are experts in their fields and approach the subject matter with school professionals in mind.

On April 9, 2025, Cornerstone offered over 300 participants a full-day, complimentary conference at Galloping Hill Golf Course in Kenilworth, titled The Interaction Between Mental Health and Social Media. We were thrilled to bring together two experts, Ashley Henderson, LSW, and Director of Extremist Violence and Targeted Violence Prevention from the Citizens Crime Commission of NYC, and Elizabeth Callahan, M.A., a BCBA from Behavior Therapy Associates in Somerset. Both presenters offered participants practical strategies to support students while exploring critical connections between social media and mental health.

The day ended with an afternoon question-and-answer session where guests could ask our speakers questions directly. We look forward to kicking off our 2025-2026 professional learning series and hosting our 2025 Fall Conference for Child Study Team members
