November is always a special time here at Cornerstone. Since the start of the school in 2006, Cornerstone has always celebrated a Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings. Everything stops for the afternoon as the whole school gathers and shares a delicious meal of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cornbread, and more. All students and staff express what they are thankful for prior to eating. Many are thankful for their families, friends, teachers, and clinicians. Of course, several students are thankful for their best friends and pets.
This is always a special day as we can socialize and share time together without cell phones, computers, or technology of any kind. We simply enjoy each other’s company and good conversation. The day always brings us back to a simpler time. Good food and conversation are the centerpieces of the day.
As always, we had a wonderful time, and needless to say, the food was delicious and the company amazing!
