This month continued with Cornerstone’s Concert Series for our students. In December, Grace Amodeo, a graduate of Westminster Choir College, started the series by visiting and performing for the student body in December. Grace sang pop, folk, opera, and Broadway songs. While here, Grace shared her career aspirations, taught us about perfect pitch, and shared her experiences as a blind performer. Accompanying Grace that day was her guide dog Emma, who sat and enjoyed the concert along with our students.

Another performance highlight was when one of Cornerstone’s amazing student singers performed alongside Grace singing a Billy Joel song.
In February our Concert Series continued with Tyler Conroy. Tyler is a graduate of Rutgers University and has starred in over 15 productions during his Rutgers Theater career.
Recently he played the role of Dewey in the NJ Production of School of Rock. Tyler sang songs from Broadway for our students. He also shared his career aspirations with the students and met with students after his performance to discuss theater.

Again, we were thrilled to have one of Cornerstone’s talented students perform with Tyler, one of his favorite Broadway hits.
Next up in the series is our third concert in April. Cornerstone will feature New York City rock star Felipe Pavani, a viral singer from Brazil who performs in small and large venues all over the East Coast. We can’t wait!
